A Multi-Week Introduction to Sewing Fundamentals
The Beginner Sewing Series is a structured, small-group sewing program designed for teens and adults who want more than a one-time class. Over multiple sessions, participants build real sewing skills, confidence, and consistency while learning how to use a sewing machine and complete beginner-level projects.
This series is ideal if you’ve attended a First Stitch Pop-Up or if you’re ready to commit to learning sewing step-by-step in a supportive, hands-on environment.
What you’ll learn throughout the series:
- Sewing machine setup, threading, and troubleshooting
- Sewing safety and best practices
- Fabric basics and cutting techniques
- How to sew straight seams and basic construction methods
- Simple finishing techniques
- How to follow beginner sewing instructions
Projects may include:
- Simple accessories (pouch, headband, or similar beginner project)
- Practice samples to build confidence and skill
(Projects may vary slightly by cohort.)

Cohort Schedule (Tentative):
This 4-week series meets once per week on the same day and time.

- Day: Saturdays (subject to change)
- Time: 1:00–2:30 PM
